WELCOME TO THE FRIENDS OF NORTHWOOD CEMETERY WEBSITE (Cowes, Isle of Wight)

By popular demand the Friends held another Quiz Night on Friday evening 22nd January at the Kingston Arms in Newport Road, Cowes.

Entry to the Quiz was £1 per person with 4 people to a team, these were formed on the night.

The Objectives of the Friends of Northwood Cemetery are:

· The preservation and sympathetic restoration of Northwood Cemetery including its chapel and mortuary buildings, monuments and other standing structures;

· The creation and safe keeping of all records relating to Northwood Cemetery; and

· The preservation and conservation of the ecology of Northwood Cemetery including its landscape, arboreta, flora and wildlife.

The Friends of Northwood Cemetery have received the nomination for the Southern Co-operative's Community Support scheme in 2010. So if you shop in Cowes on the Isle of Wight be sure to get a Community Support Card from the main Co-op in Terminus Road which, when used at the till, will direct 1.5% of your spending to us (alas the Mill Hill Road Co-op is not part of this scheme); it costs you nothing but it will raise thousands of pounds for the Friends of Northwood Cemetery!
