Northwood Cemetery Heritage Project
At the beginning of July 2014 the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) announced that it would ‘earmark’ £1,064,000 for restoration works at Northwood Cemetery. The Friends of Northwood Cemetery and the Isle of Wight Council (the landowners) are working in partnership to bring this exciting project to fruition.
The HLF will advance £75,300 of that so that the Board, working in partnership with the IW Council,
can appoint project managers and professionals to specify the works in detail over the coming months.
Then, in early 2015, it is envisaged that a further application to the HLF will be made to draw down
the balance and enabling a start to be made on-site in late 2015/early 2016.
Updates on the progress of this project will become available in our quarterly newsletters
which can be viewed by clicking here.
