| If it hadn't been for the heroic action of the Officers and Crew of the Polish Destroyer the ORP Blyskawica (which was undergoing a re-fit in J Samuel White's shipyard at the time of the attack on the night of 4 th /5 th May 1942) many more than the 70 people killed, 31 of whom are buried in Northwood Cemetery, would have lost their lives. |

The Objectives of the Friends of Northwood Cemetery are:
. To promote the preservation, maintenance and restoration of Northwood Cemetery including its chapels, monuments, other standing structures and burial records for the public benefit.
. To promote the conservation of the landscape, arboreta, flora and wildlife of Northwood cemetery for the public benefit. |
